… brings over 40 years’ experience of leadership and strategic thinking within the  banking and asset management industries to Valeria Capital. Georges had previously held management positions in a wide range of Swiss and foreign banks based in Geneva, Lugano, Zug, Zurich and last but not least in his native Canton of Wallis.

Georges started his banking career with Credit Suisse where he was given responsibility for restructuring the operational and organisational structures in a number of business areas. Part of the task was the implementation of IT concepts and analytical tools. During this period Georges also persued his personal development achieving a ‘Bachelor of Business Administration’ degree and becoming a ‘Certified Swiss Banking Specialist’. He speaks five languages.

1981 Georges moved into the asset management business when he joined the Swiss Canto Bank in Zug. In a reasonably short time he and his team established themselves convincingly in the markets building a strong client following in Western Europe and South America.  1991 he joined the Zuger Kantonalbank before in 1993 Georges joined the general management of the Walliser Kantonalbank, which was undergoing a strategic review. His task was to build a professional Private Banking and Asset Management Division. Under his tenure the teams established themselves in the institutional and private banking businesses, which in due course became a cornerstone of the banks activities.

In 2010 Georges retired from his operational responsibilities and became President of the Board of a money broker, FINARBIT AG. The owners, the Cantonal Banks had given him the mandate to undertake a strategic review of the business, which resulted in the business being merged into Compagnia Financiere Tradition in Geneva.

We are pleased being able to count on George with his broad experience and technical know-how. He is a member of the Supervisory Board, covers the Audit committee function and acts as the internal auditor.

His linguistic skills and his openness towards foreign cultures has enabled George to build and maintain a wide ranging network of professional contacts and friends. He is an enthusiastic member of LIONS and has served as a Governor for the 'District Switzerland West'. 2014 he was the driving force in founding the 'Innovage.ch’ network in the upper part of the Canton Wallis with the task of supporting local charitable organisation. Georges is married, has two grown up daughters and is a passionate golfer.
